Supersonic Songbird has been founded by Ivan Mihaljević. Ivan is an authorized Complete Vocal Technique (CVT) teacher, singer, and published voice researcher. Worked with hundreds of singers across 39 countries, ranging from total beginners to Grammy Award-winning touring professionals. Combines extensive teaching experience with expertise in CVT, vocal acoustics, Estill Voice Training (EVT), and Speech Level Singing (SLS).
Teaching & Research
Guest Lecturer: Delivered guest lectures at the University of North Texas and Complete Vocal Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Singing Teacher (Full-Time): Teaches individual lessons, group courses, workshops and masterclasses both in person and online.
Voice Researcher: Specializes in vocal acoustics; research published in the Journal of Voice [a coauthor of A Pitch-Synchronous Study of Formants (2025)].
Performance Highlights
- Festival Performances: Performed at major festivals including Wacken Open Air (with Hard Time) and Heineken Jamming Festival (with Side Effects, sharing the stage with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Prodigy, The Cure, Noel Gallagher, and Gorillaz).
- Opening Act: Opened for international acts including Whitesnake, The Cult, Scorpions, Paul Gilbert, Richie Kotzen, and Tito & Tarantula.
- Musical Theater: Performed the lead role of Agaton in a rock opera Hocus Pocus in the Croatian National Theatre in Varaždin (2011).
- Notable Collaborations: Performed with Les Paul in New York (2008). Recorded single “Recoil” with Latin Grammy-winning producer Bob Benozzo after Side Effects won the Ritmi Globali Europei competition (2012).
- Active Touring Projects: Lead singer for Dion Smith Band (UK); lead singer and guitarist for Croatian Pink Floyd Show.

- Status Award (2015): Awarded Best Guitar Player of the Year by the Croatian Musician’s Union.
- Ritmi Globali Europei (2012): First place winner with band Side Effects.
